It’s that time of year again; time to start finding a place to live, maybe classes for the summer and of course a steady income at a place you don’t hate to call your job.

Luckily Oregon State provides its students with on-campus jobs that allow you to work flexible hours and provide valuable work experience. For those that interested in work that is more geared toward social justice and community engagement you should check out these three places I have listed below.

Diversity of Cultural Engagement (DCE)

The DCE is now accepting applications for the position of the Central Office Student Ambassador. This position includes working from the main office of DCE in the Student Experience Center keeping in close contact and collaboration with the universities Cultural Resource Centers, SEC and other on campus student organizations.

There are 16 positions available and the application deadline is April 16 at 11:59 p.m. If you would like to learn more about this opportunity you can follow the link to the DCE hiring page where you can read more about the job and apply.

Cultural Resource Centers (CRCs)

Another great place to work on campus that is currently hiring is the university CRCs. The CRCs are a great place to work, learn and gain a strong understanding of social justice, equality, identity and so much more.

There are eight different CRCs on campus and each of them is hiring multiple new staff members for the 2017-2018 school year. Positions that are currently available for applications are the Student Success Peer Facilitator, Communication Representative and graphic designer. The SSPF is expected to work a 12 hours a week, while the communication representative and the graphic designer positions are expected to work 7 – 10 hours a week.

The application deadline for all these positions is April 16 at 11:59 p.m. You can follow the link above to apply through the DCE website, or you can click here to visit the CRC’s homepage to learn more about them.

Associated Students of Oregon State University  (ASOSU)

ASOSU is a great place to work to gain vital experience for the work force, as well as a good place to better your inclusion and equity education.

ASOSU Student Government is currently hiring for four different positions. These positions include their Executive Chief of Staff, Executive Director of Diversity Programs, Executive Director of Community Programs, Executive Director of Government Relations and Executive Director of Public Relations and Outreach.

These positions are now open to apply to and will remain open until April 19 at 11:59 p.m. To learn more about ASOSU and these positions you can follow the link to their website, or click here to be directed to their Employment page.

Good luck to everyone who decides to apply, and remember you can apply to multiple positions that you are interested in, and if you don’t get a position this year there is always next year!
