step 7

1. First, gather all of your supplies. You will need, two glass votives (I used one round and one square), red tissue paper, two types of ribbon (one skinny, one wide), Mod Podge, a paintbrush, red rhinestones, a heart hole punch, a hot glue gun, scissors, and a marker.

step 1

2. Take the round votive, and use the paintbrush to paint the Mod Podge all over the votive. When it’s covered, take the tissue paper and wrap it around. Cut off the extra tissue paper. Then cover the tissue paper in another layer of Mod Podge. Be careful, as sometimes this can rip the delicate tissue paper. Let this dry.

3. Next, take the wide ribbon and use hot glue to glue the ribbon around the middle of the round votive. To finish off this one, I put some rhinestones where the two ends of the ribbon meet.

step 3

4. Now it’s time to work on the square votive. First, measure and cut two squares of tissue paper. Paint Mod Podge on the glass, then put the tissue paper over the Mod Podge, and put another layer over the top.

5. Then comes the hard part. Using the heart hole punch, carefully punch out two tissue paper hearts. Repeat the same Mod Podge process to glue on the hearts on the last two sides. Let these dry.

6. Using the skinny ribbon, measure and cut 8 pieces of ribbon. Take the hot glue and glue the ribbon around the edge of the sides with the square tissue paper. Lastly, use the rhinestones to decorate the edge of the hearts.

7. You’re all done! Put some tea lights on the inside of your votives, and have a nice candle-lit Valentine’s dinner date or Galentine's brunch.
